Operation Dough-Nation® Partnerships
Two prongs of our four-prong Operation Dough-Nation program involve fostering partnerships with select local community organizations that really allow us to foster growth and development in our communities year-round.

Community Breadbox Partners
The Community Breadbox program ensures that cash donations from Panera Bread feed back directly to the community. Each bakery-cafe has a Community Breadbox collection container at each set of registers, encouraging customers to donate to a critical non-profit organization in the community. These cash donations are matched dollar-for-dollar by Panera Bread of Iowa and donated directly to the organization.. Contributions generated through the program have provided basic necessities for those in need, and have created special places and opportunities. If you would like to contribute to our efforts to assist local non-profit organizations in the communities we serve, please look for the Community Breadbox collection containers at your neighborhood Panera Bread bakery-cafe.

Day-End Dough-Nation
Through the Day-End Dough-Nation program, unsold bakery products are packaged at the end of each day and donated to local food banks and charities. In 2008, Panera Bread bakery-cafes collectively donated a retail value of more than 50 million dollars worth of bread and baked goods to charitable organizations helping to address the need for food distribution in our local communities.
